2014 Generation Google Scholarship and Computer Science Summer Institute

The program is open to all qualified current high school seniors, and is committed to addressing diversity in the field of computer science. For both programs

Applicants must:

  • Be a current high school senior
  • Intend to be enrolled as a full-time student at a 4-year BA/BS program in the US or Canada. International students are eligible to apply as long as they intend to be enrolled at a university in the US or Canada
  • Intend to be enrolled at a university in a computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related area department for the 2014–2015 academic year
  • Be able to attend one of our three Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) sessions in Mountain View (7/6 – 7/26), Cambridge (7/6 – 7/26) or Seattle (7/27 – 8/16). As part of the Generation Google Scholarship, all recipients will be required to attend CSSI in the summer of 2014

  • Be able to demonstrate an interest in and motivation for studying computer science

Applicants must:

  • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate a passion for computer science and technology
  • Exhibit a strong record of academic achievement
  • Be a student from an underrepresented group in computer science (African American, Hispanic, American Indian, Female, or a Person with a Disability)
