The HSF/Marathon Oil College Scholarship Program is a scholarship of up to $15,000 for the 2014-2015 academic year. Selected students may receive up to $15,000 for two academic years (2014-2015, 2015-2016) for a possible total of $30,000.
In addition, scholars may be offered the opportunity to participate in a possible paid 8-10 week summer 2014 internship at various Marathon Oil Corporation locations. Scholars will be paired with a Marathon Oil Corporation employee who will serve as a professional mentor.
This scholarship is open to college sophomores (for the 2013-2014 school year) majoring in one of the following fields:
■ Chemical Engineering
■ Computer Engineering
■ Computer Science
■ Electrical Engineering
■ Environmental Engineering
■ Information Technology (IT/MIS)
■ Mechanical Engineering
The HSF/Marathon Oil Scholarship is also open to current college seniors who are planning to enroll in Master’s degree programs in the 2014-2015 school year for geology/geosciences or petroleum engineering. This scholarship is open to Hispanic American, African American, Asian Pacific Islander American, and American Indian/Alaskan Native heritage students who are U.S. citizens. You also must have a minimum 3.00 GPA (out of 4.00).
